Abu Dhabi, UAE – November 3, 2025: The UAE’s AI-powered space technology company, Space42, has successfully expanded its Earth Observation (EO) constellation with the launch of three new satellites—Foresight-3, Foresight-4, and Foresight-5.
The satellites were launched into Low Earth Orbit from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida aboard a SpaceX Bandwagon-4 rideshare mission. Space42 confirmed that the spacecraft have established communication and are undergoing early routine operations.
This launch increases the Foresight Constellation to five satellites, following the deployment of Foresight-1 in August 2024 and Foresight-2 in January 2025. The constellation integrates high-resolution SAR imagery with Space42’s proprietary AI platform, GIQ, to deliver advanced geospatial intelligence to government and commercial clients.
“Expanding the Foresight Constellation to five satellites in just over one year demonstrates our commitment to operating as a centre of excellence for space innovation, and enhances the space ecosystem we are developing,” said Hasan Al Hosani, CEO of Smart Solutions at Space42. “By combining sovereign capability with global collaboration, together with ICEYE, we deliver intelligence that matters across industries and borders.”
The expansion places the UAE among only 20 countries worldwide operating sovereign SAR space assets. This technology offers significant advantages, enabling governments to accelerate emergency response times by up to 90 per cent and infrastructure operators to cut predictive maintenance costs by 30 per cent. Its strategic importance was proven during the 2023 Turkey earthquake, where it verified the Atatürk Dam’s safety, and during the UAE’s historic floods in 2024.
The global SAR market reflects this growing demand, with projections indicating an increase from $5.8 billion to $9.8 billion by 2030. The project also highlights a model of international cooperation: the satellites were manufactured in Finland, tested and integrated at Space42’s facility in Abu Dhabi, and launched from the United States.
Rafal Modrzewski, CEO and Co-founder of ICEYE, added: “Working with Space42 demonstrates how ICEYE’s technology and operational expertise can help partners establish sovereign satellite capabilities.”
Operating at a 25-centimeter resolution, the constellation provides daily revisit rates for sharper change detection and faster intelligence delivery. Space42 aims to achieve full maturity for its EO constellation by 2027, further cementing its role as a global leader in the space industry.
