Marriott expands Morocco portfolio with seven hotels, five brands by 2027

Marriott International is expanding its presence in Morocco with plans to open seven new hotels across five brands by the end of 2027, introducing Four Points by Sheraton, Moxy Hotels, Residence Inn, Autograph Collection, and AC Hotels while adding over 800 rooms to support the country’s dynamic tourism growth.

The hospitality giant announced its strategic expansion on November 10, 2025, reinforcing its commitment to North African markets as part of a broader regional diversification strategy. Currently, Marriott operates 10 hotels across six brands in major Moroccan cities including Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakesh, Fes, and Tamuda Bay, offering more than 1,700 rooms.

Planned openings include:

  • Four Points by Sheraton Casablanca Bouskoura — 2026
  • Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort (250 rooms with beachfront access) — early 2026
  • Amerruk Marrakech, Autograph Collection — 2026
  • Moxy Casablanca and Residence Inn by Marriott Casablanca — 2027
  • AC by Marriott Casablanca La Corniche — 2027

Recent additions to Marriott’s Morocco portfolio include Villa Sahrai Casablanca, a Design Hotels member launching this year, and Le Méridien Casablanca, which recently opened blending Parisian heritage with Moroccan contemporary design.

“Morocco continues to be a key growth market in the region for Marriott International,” said Ronny Maier, Regional Vice President for Southern Europe and Northwest Africa. “The planned introduction of these brands reaffirms our commitment to supporting Morocco’s dynamic tourism sector and economic development.”

Beyond new openings, Marriott is investing substantially in renovations across existing properties. The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam will unveil “The Retreat” in 2026, a private enclave featuring 24 villas each with a private pool. Le Méridien N’Fis in Marrakesh is undergoing full refurbishment, while Marriott Fès Jnan Palace has launched new dining venues including a Spanish-inspired restaurant.

The expansion aligns with Morocco’s broader tourism ambitions. Similar to how the UAE unveils major tourism projects targeting $122.5 billion sector contribution by 2026, Morocco is positioning itself as a regional tourism hub with enhanced hospitality infrastructure.

Maier emphasized the company’s broader vision: “Our new openings and renovations reflect our commitment to elevating the guest experience across Morocco. They highlight our dedication to design, culture, and innovation, offering travellers more distinctive destinations and memorable stays.”

This move supports job creation and hospitality excellence across Morocco while diversifying Marriott’s brand portfolio to serve evolving traveller preferences, from budget-conscious Moxy guests to ultra-luxury Ritz-Carlton clientele.
