Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), a leading construction firm in the Middle East, has signed a contract with Saudi Egyptian Developers (SED) to execute the ‘Central’ mixed-use project in New Cairo. Construction on the ambitious 160,000-square-metre development is scheduled to begin in November 2025 and is expected to be completed within four years.

Located at the intersection of North and South 90th Streets and the Mohamed Naguib Axis, Central will feature 10 buildings housing premium offices, commercial outlets, and leisure spaces. Under the agreement, CCC will manage the entire scope of construction and finishing works, including buildings, façades, landscaping, public areas, and parking facilities.

Mohamed El-Taher, CEO of Saudi Egyptian Developers, stated that the project reflects the company’s commitment to creating “world-class, integrated urban destinations that combine quality, sustainability, and modern design.” He added that the partnership with CCC underscores SED’s confidence in one of the region’s most reputable and experienced contractors.

SED, a joint partnership between the Saudi and Egyptian governments established in 1975, has a significant track record, having delivered approximately 24,000 housing units across more than 50 projects in Egypt. The developer also signed an MoU last month to attract leading global retail brands to the project.

Mohamed Tarek Kamel, Executive Director for Africa at CCC, commented that the collaboration aligns with CCC’s vision to deliver sustainable, cutting-edge developments. He noted that Central will “contribute to shaping New Cairo’s evolving commercial and business landscape.” The health of the regional construction market remains strong, with a notable focus on sustainable building practices, as highlighted in a recent industry survey on the UAE construction sector.

Headquartered in Athens, Greece, since its founding in 1952, CCC has completed over 1,500 projects valued at $300 billion, cementing its status as a major player in global construction.
